India-Australia Renewable Energy Partnership Launched

On November 19, 2024, during the Australia-India Annual Summit in Brazil, Prime Ministers Anthony Albanese and Narendra Modi inaugurated the India-Australia Renewable Energy Partnership. This strategic alliance aims to bolster cooperation in eight key areas: solar photovoltaic (PV) technology, green hydrogen, solar supply chains, energy storage, circular economy practices for renewables, two-way investment in renewable energy projects, capacity building, and other mutually beneficial sectors. Joint projects in solar PV and green hydrogen are already underway, with plans to expand collaboration through a new 1.5 Track Dialogue to explore and define additional areas of cooperation. Both nations are committed to building a skilled renewable energy workforce and leading in the commercialization of cutting-edge renewable technologies.
